The Sandarna district is located 4 km southwest of the center of Gothenburg, directly adjacent to the popular Majorna. In just a few minutes' walk you reach Mariaplan. There you will find lots of restaurants, pubs, charming little shops and grocery stores. You have the tram stop right next to the house and from there the tram takes you to Järntorget in 15 minutes. If you go in the other direction, you quickly reach the sea and beautiful Saltholmen.

Smoking is prohibited in the property at Fridhemsgatan 58. The non-smoking policy is valid in the dwellings, in the communal spaces, on balconies and patios. Nor is smoking permitted outdoors in the close vicinity to the property. The tenant commits him-/herself to comply with the non-smoking policy on the premises and also to see to that any visitors, for whom the tenant is responsible, comply with the smoking ban.

Many people wish to live in a smoke-free environment for various reasons. To cater for the needs of these persons and to create good living conditions, smoking is prohibited in the property at Fridgemsgatan 58 .

Vacuum cleaners
There is a built-in vacuum cleaner in the building; you find the tube in a cupboard in the corridor. The machine will start when you plug in the tube into one of the connections holes in the corridor. Always hang up the tube after use. 

 

Cleaning
Students should keep their flats clean and  tidy. No personal belongings should be left in the apartment when moving out.

Household waste/recycling
Compostable and household waste are sorted in the garbage room in the yard. Recycling location for sorting available in the area in Brännögatan 18. There are also recycling locations in Jordhyttegatan 15 and Sannaplan 1.

Laundry rooms
Fridhemsgatan 56 - 2 laundry rooms on the ground floor.
Fridhemsgatan 58 - 3 laundry rooms on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor.
 
Laundry rooms can be booked with an Aptus tag on the board outside the laundry room.

Car
Parking spaces are available for rent. There is no parking places for visitors on the premises. Paid parking is available on neighbouring streets.

Practical information regarding the electricity, water and fire detector 
The electricity central is furnished with an earth fault breaker marked JFB. If electricity goes away then check the fuses in the electric box and turn them back on. Check first if there is any faulty electric equipment that might have caused the shut down and unplug it.
 
Light bulbs, fluorescent lamps and glow starters are consumable items and tenants should buy and change them themselves. Make a fault report if the lamps won't start working with the new light bulbs.
 
 
Tenant is responsible for cleaning the drainage in the kitchen and bathroom. You can find videos with instructions here (turn on English subtitles):

If the water does not go down well after cleaning, please make a fault report on My Pages.
 
The fire detectors in the apartments are operated by electricity. There is a battery which will take over in case of power failure. Should the electicity be shut off for a longer period the fire alarm will start beeping every 45 seconds. Make a fault report on My Pages if that happens. Check the fire alarm regularly to make sure that it works.
